In late 1995, several young musicians — who would later go on to form some of the most important bands in the local scene — came together to create a blasphemous project called Belfegor. There was never an intention to take it seriously; these teenagers recorded “Antichrist” during a rehearsal using a drum kit made of cardboard boxes and a toy electronic set.
The story of the project was short-lived. A few more rehearsals took place with different members before they changed their name to Nekrofixion, another venture that didn’t last long either.
From that unholy seed, however, Infernaculum was born in 2021 — a project that continues the same raw and chaotic essence.
Now, nearly 30 years later, this early demo is reissued as a commemorative professional DIY cassette, released by the original vocalist himself.
